My Favorite Historical Romances

Somebody asked me the other day what were my favorite romances. What sprang to mind immediately were two categories: Historicals and Classic Historicals. As to which of those are my favorites, here's my list. (It was easy to compile since I keep these treasured books in a box under my desk! We all like to keep our loved ones near!); Shanna by Kathleen Woodiwiss - A lush, sensuous read from page one to page end. These characters grab your heart and live there forever.
Something Wonderful by Judith McNaught - The title says it all!
And then there's Whitney, My Love also by Judith. - All I'll say is you just gotta read this one. Think of it as a gift of sensuality.
Hummingbird by LaVyrle Spencer - To my knowledge this is the only historical LaVyrle ever wrote and it's a dandy. Sadly, LaVyrle retired from writing in 1997.
Lawless by Nora Roberts - Another one-off historical from the undisputed Queen of Contemporary Romance. What is it about mixed-race heroes that are so appealing?
Chance the Winds of Fortune by Laurie McBain - Who loves a sexy pirate? I do! I do! In fact, I think it's time to read this one again for the--what? fourth read?
And the good news about this list? They're all still available from re-sale bookstores like Thriftbooks. Yay, Thriftbooks!
Happy reading!
